Accelerated Programs (4+1): Take Graduate-level Courses during your Undergraduate Career

Accelerated programs provide eligible students the opportunity to take graduate-level courses during their undergraduate studies that count both for their undergraduate and graduate degrees. 

 

Are you eligible to take graduate courses in an accelerated program?

To be eligible, you must...

  • be a current ßÏÀÖÔ° undergraduate student
  • earned at least 60 credit hours 
  • meet the requirements established by each program

Accelerated Programs (4+1)

Accelerated programs are offered in a variety of areas, and the programs offered at ßÏÀÖÔ° are listed below. Undergraduate students must have permission to take graduate level courses. 

MACC Accounting Accelerated Program Requirements

  • Overall GPA in undergraduate coursework of at least 3.0 
  • Completion of 75 credit hours of undergraduate coursework
  • Completed at least 15 hours must be LCOBA courses, with at least a 3.0 GPA for those LCOBA credits
  • Earned a grade of “C” or better must be earned in each of those LCOBA courses

MS Biology Accelerated Program Requirements

  • Overall GPA in undergraduate course work of at least 3.0 
  • Completion of 90 semester hours of undergraduate coursework, at least 18 hours of which is in Biology

MBA Business Administration Accelerated Program Requirements

  • Overall GPA in undergraduate course work of at least 3.0
  • Completion of 75 credit hours of undergraduate coursework 
  • At least 15 hours must be LCOBA courses, with at least a 3.0 GPA for those LCOBA credits
  • A grade of “C” or better must be earned in each of those LCOBA courses

MS Criminal Justice Accelerated Program Requirements

  • Cumulative ßÏÀÖÔ° GPA of 3.0 or higher 
  • Complete 60 credit hours of undergraduate coursework 
  • Complete CRJU 3401, 3402, 3600, and 3700 with a minimum grade of B (or course equivalent) 
  • Submit a personal statement to the Criminal Justice Graduate coordinator describing your education and career goals and how the program will assist the students to achieve their goals. The essay should not exceed 2 pages and should be submitted via email. 

MPA Public Administration Accelerated Program Requirements

  • Have a cumulative ßÏÀÖÔ° GPA of 3.0 or higher 
  • Have completed 60 undergraduate credit hours with a minimum grade of B (or course equivalent) 
  • Submit a personal statement that does not exceed 5 pages describing how the program will assist the student to achieve their goals 
  • Submit to the MPA Program Coordinator the Accelerated Undergraduate-to-Graduate application, two letters of recommendation from ßÏÀÖÔ° Political Science faculty, a current resume, and a writing sample from an ORGL/POLS course to demonstrate writing skills. 

MS Sociology Accelerated Program Requirements

  • Have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher 
  • Have completed at least 60 credit hours 
  • Must submit the Accelerated Undergraduate-to-Graduate Track application to the Undergraduate Sociology Coordinator. 

MAT World Languages Education Accelerated Program Requirements

  • Have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Have completed at least 60 credit hours
  • Submit the Accelerated Undergraduate-to-Graduate Track in ESOL or FLED application to the Undergraduate French Advisor.
