ßÏÀÖÔ° Theatre and Dance Hosts Annual Cabaret Fundraiser Nov. 17

VALDOSTA — The ßÏÀÖÔ° Theatre and Dance Area’s Rho Epsilon Cast of Alpha Psi Omega will present its 15th annual cabaret fundraiser at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 17, in the University Center Magnolia Room. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. and will be followed by the performance at 7 p.m.

Themed “From the Coast to Campus: A Silver Celebration,” the cabaret fundraiser will feature selections from professional summer musicals produced by ßÏÀÖÔ° at the Jekyll Island Musical Theatre Festival and Peach State Summer Theatre. Proceeds will benefit the Golden Circle Scholarship and Support Fund.

The 2014 Peach State Summer Theatre season marks the 25th year of ßÏÀÖÔ° producing professional theatre for the city of Valdosta, the state of Georgia, and beyond. From 1990 to 2004, ßÏÀÖÔ° produced the Jekyll Island Musical Theatre Festival. In 2005, the summer theatre program was relocated to the university and renamed PSST! Then, in 2006, it was designated the Official Musical Theatre of the State of Georgia by the Georgia Legislature.

Fans are sure to enjoy the upcoming PSST! season: “Mary Poppins,” “Smokey Joe’s Café: The Songs of Leiber and Stoller,” and “42nd Street.”

The buffet menu for the annual cabaret fundraiser features chicken piccata, beef tips with mushrooms, loaded mashed potatoes, vegetable medley, salad, rolls, chocolate layer cake, and lime meringue pie. Plated vegetarian and gluten free dinners are also available with advance notice.

Tickets are $45 per person, or $40 per person for ßÏÀÖÔ° Theatre and Dance season members. All checks should be made payable to “ßÏÀÖÔ° Foundation,” with “Golden Circle Cabaret” written on the memo line.

Advance reservations are required and can be made by calling (229) 333-5307 or emailing Duke Guthrie at dguthrie@valdosta.edu. All reservations must be made by noon on Monday, Nov. 11.
