Keri Lynn Knight Crowned Miss ßÏÀÖÔ°

VALDOSTA – ßÏÀÖÔ° crowned Keri Lynn Knight, a senior business administration major from Uvalda, Ga., as the 2014 Miss ßÏÀÖÔ°.
Knight received a $2,000 scholarship towards her ßÏÀÖÔ° education and will have the honor of representing ßÏÀÖÔ° at the Miss Georgia pageant in June 2014. She also won the Interview Preliminary Award and the Talent Preliminary Award, receiving $200 per award.
Eight contestants competed in the Miss ßÏÀÖÔ° pageant produced by Student Life and assisted by Pi Kappa Phi, a ßÏÀÖÔ° fraternity.
Jackie Ladin, first runner-up received a $750 scholarship to ßÏÀÖÔ° and Brooke Courie, second runner-up received a $500 scholarship. Other contestants included Dani Taylor, Amber Austin, Brittany Williams, Nadia Meghjani, and Lorraine Dawkins.
In 2008, the Miss ßÏÀÖÔ° pageant was discontinued, even though it had been held for almost 50 years prior. In 2012, ßÏÀÖÔ° decided to bring back the pageant, making this year its second year after the discontinuation.
Sponsors included ßÏÀÖÔ° Campus Activities Board, ßÏÀÖÔ° Student Government Association, Golden Key International Honour Society, ßÏÀÖÔ° Dining, Valdosta School of Ballet, Zeta Tau Alpha, ßÏÀÖÔ° Bookstore, ßÏÀÖÔ° Alumni Association, Post and Associates CPAs, Spirit Screen Printing and Embroidery, Zants Flower Shop, Flip Flops, and Demos Cams.
