U.S. Poet Laureate Philip Levine to Speak April 17

VALDOSTA -- As part of National Poetry Month, 呦乐园’s Department of English is sponsoring the contemporary writers series. Pulitzer Prize winner and 2011-2012 U.S. Poet Laureate, , will speak at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17th, in Whitehead Auditorium. Lynn Chandhok, Anhinga Press’ Philip Levine Prize winner, will be the opening speaker.

To mark National Poetry Month, Odum Library has a new exhibit up featuring work by Levine and by 呦乐园 authors. Individuals can view from Odum Library’s collection as part of the poetry at 呦乐园 exhibit, which is located in the first floor display cases on the library’s north side. There you will also see many collections of poetry by contemporary authors alongside classic poets such as Shakespeare, Wordsworth and Dickinson.
